Every RV with propane should have a working propane leak detector placed inside the RV. Propane gas can leak from stoves, heaters, refrigerators, or water heaters. It can leak from any connector on the propane system and can leak from any break in the lines feeding these appliances.
My first trailer was a bumper pull travel trailer which had the two propane tanks mounted on the tongue of the trailer. The plastic cover that pulls off to fill the tanks would rub up and down on the hoses connected to the regulator. My wife and I took a boondocking trip one weekend and found ourselves in a campground and our refrigerator wasn’t working. After investigating my propane was empty. Taking the cover off and on for filling caused a defect in the hoses.
